A great resource! Boarders on filthy, with scum in the men's locker. Especially on the weekend. There are lots of employees standing around - perhaps they could clean?

Great place to have a gathering. Can enjoy the different activities that they offer. Had a good time.

What a fabulous resource, economically priced, and staffed with excellent employees and volunteers. The facilities are top-notch, and there is even a little counter and seating area where food is served.

I love how many different sports facilities are held in one place. From basketball and swimming to ice arenas, this place will keep you entertained for hours. The entry fee is decent to. Very affordable. You will also be well fed throughout those hours of entertainment with there food bar which serves really good fries. But most everything on the menu is great in flavor and the food is also very cheap for what it is your getting. However, the reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because you usually have to get there at a certain time of day or else it will have the swimming pool to full capacity. Also this place often has some sort of construction going on in some part of the building, which sometimes closes off different sports facilities facilities. So you may not find what you want to do when you go there. Also from behind the building there is a decent sunset.

Great place to work out. Wonderful hot tub. People are usually very friendly. My kids love the pool there also as well. Or being able to play basketball. The only thing that sucks is everybody uses the family rooms all the time.

The staff here at GCCC are helpful and polite. Good place work up a sweat at there Gym. And shower too. The swimming pool and hot tub are great to enjoy.

Friendly and helpful staff. Clean facility, great value, affordable. Facility has many activities for all ages.

Not very clean, very picky, the staff can be very mean at the Front Desk, Very Expensive for the amount of time and location. The pool is fun though with a little kiddy pool with the Frog Slide and then they have the big green slide for the bigger kids (teens) and then the big huge pool is for laps and they have diving boards which is fun..,

Swimming with the kids. They love it! Its a nice size pool. Two slides, one for little kids & one for bigger kids. Plenty of shaded parking. They also have a playground. Center is fully equipped.

Lots of machine options and in good shape. Don't seem to have AC which can make it warm but I appreciate the conservation of energy. doesn't ever get too busy

Vast center with lots going on. Does indeed feel like a community center with all kinds and ages of people coming and going-in a good way. Four stars instead of five just because the exercise equipment, while ok, could be better.

My favorite place to work out. The fitness area and machines are mostly complete, lacking leg weights. But beyond that? The best place to spend your time

Great for me, adult professional that works out in the morning. Nice members. VERY VERY CLEAN!!

As far a community centers go, this one has it all. We drove past this place for 2 years before checking it out...that was a mistake! Ice hockey, b-ball, v-ball, raquet ball, weights, indoor track, spin, olympic pool plus a recreational pool and a skate park out back. State Employees get a discount but if you are a disabled veteran, bring in your VA award letter. Not sure about any levels of discounts at different disability levels, but 100% gets free membership here and all the community centers! *if you want a good yoga class though, check out "Full Circle Yoga - Santa Fe"

Great hockey rink! Nice concessions! The pool looks wonderful. Wish we had swam after our hockey games.

I really enjoy the fitness center here. The weight room is a good size and has some decent equipment. Not necessarily for heavy iron as in powerlifting. But still there is a reasonable amount of weight hanging around. Lots of cardio equipment and the track is nice as well. I also use the hot tub at times and it's usually pretty hot and clean. Nice variety of Fitness classes as well.

A really cool place. They have ice skating, roller skating, gym, swimming pool, plus classes you can take. Great for families. The prices are reasonable, too.

This is probably one of the most popular places in Santa Fe. The facility is completed with about 4 basketball courts, and Ice rink, a leisure swimming pool completed with a water slide, a huge lap pool, and some racket ball courts.

Ice skating rink, swimming pools, saunas, basketball courts, pickle ball, squash, indoor track, lockers, and cafes....what's not to love? This is the largest indoor recreation center in the state of New Mexico. It's beautifully constructed, well maintained, and the staff is awesome.

This is an outstanding facility. 50-meter pool, ice skating rink, indoor running tracks, weight room... I was impressed!

Excellent local youth and adult center. Pools, workout gyms, running track, archery and ice skating for a start

Huge facility, lots of parking, open 7 days a week, sauna, multiple indoor pools, weights and aerobic equipment, indoor walking track, indoor basketball court, locker rooms, pool lifts/hoists for disabled members, classes offered. Monthly membership or pay as you go- offers special discounted rates. Can be pricey up to $70 per month. Warmer temp therapy pool has been closed for months due to lack of life guard help. Bummer :(

Lots of fun stuff to do. Great swimming area.

A great gym, pool and indoor track! The staff great. I wish they would offer more spinning classes an evening spin would be awesome! . That is the ONLY reason for 4 stars. Off to the gym.....

One of the finest community centers I've ever been to. Ice rink, pool, wadering river with high water slide, exercise equipment area, weights, indoor track, basketball and racquetball, dance room; all top quality. The ice rink has some of the best ice on the nation.

Great aquatics facility but is missing a second pool for warmup warm down for higher level long course meets.

I adore the Center! I do wish people were more considerate. I also wish people would wipe their machines after. But that's some Santa Feans, not the center. I would give 10 stars if I could.

Great place to take the family for a bit of fun. Family pool is great but a little crowded. Not in any way the facilities fault Santa Fe is growing and soon its need for fun places for families will have to be addressed. Always enjoy going here.

Can't wait to get started here. Swimming and cycling. I'm going to be in heaven. Wish I lived closer. When I look for my permanent home, I'll be sure to look for something in this area.

I use the lap pool frequently. It is a nice pool and I usually can find an empty lane without a problem. However, lately I have developed a minor rash on my arms and legs that may be water-quality related. I am going to avoid swimming for a few days. I am also going to start using special lotion designed to help protect skin while swimming. I hope the water is being monitored and treated properly. My biggest complaint is that the locker room facility seems small and often crowded. It can be very noisy if you have a bunch of kids in there. Some people leave their locks on the lockers, meaning half the lockers are always unavailable. Some of these locks may be from the 1990s, or from whenever the building was built. I don't use the kiddie pool, but the kiddie pool seems to be much more popular than the lap pool, even though it is a much smaller pool. In Flagstaff, where I used to live, the municipal pool was more similar to the kiddie pool, with slides and river-like layout, but it was considerably bigger than the Chavez kiddie pool, occupying most of the swim building. The Flagstaff municipal swim facility had only a relatively small lap pool, probably because the nearby university had an Olympic size lap pool. My feeling is that Chavez should have a bigger kiddie pool. The kiddie pool should also be open more hours. It seems to only be open for two or three hours at a time, with breaks of up to an hour or two in between. Perhaps they have to close it repeatedly during the day to allow for the water to be properly filtered. The Chavez Center has many other facilities that I have not used, like an ice rink and basketball court. It probably deserves another star for those.

We come all the way up from Albuquerque to enjoy the lazy river and waterslide at the swimming pool AND the ice rink! The gym is probably fun, too, but I've never tried it. Very reasonably priced. The rental ice skates are in great condition.

Sold out , we waited to see if we could go swimming. Hot pool was closed. 3 pools and was'nt able use one. Pt pool hours are not able to be used after six, the pool us to be open till seven.

Great place for so many things to do. Huge pool, I love swimming. Never used the ice rink nor the lazy river. Great classes! Bathrooms are poorly drained so I don't like them. They feel gross, quick shower after swimming, very quick.

It is a great place to exercise, socialize, great machines. Can walk on a track, inside. Nice place to take kids to swim, Ice Skate etc. if you need Day Care for small children it is provided for busy Mom's and they still get their excercise.

Nice to swim, if they're open. The staff hardly ever updates the website when they're closed, so unfortunately our son and us have been going home disappointed far too often. For the money they charge you to swim, they can at least update that information.

Excellent place to go work out. They have very good machines, weights, an indoor walking/running track. They have an Olympic pool, therapy pool and a hot pool. They have treadmills, an aerobics room and an ice skating rink. Great staff here. Voted best in Santa Fe.

Nice facility. There's usually a lane or two open for a swim.

Very nice facility, with many amenities, and only 7 bucks to get in!

By far the best all around fitness center in town with features such as olympic and kids pool, ice skating ring, indoor running track, basketball, volleyball and racquetball courts, weights, cardio and a multitude of classes.

Wonderful community workout complex. Very clean & modern!

Was a great place but recently it's getting more and more ghetto. Parking lot vandalism, purse thefts and others leave safety in question. Inadequate video monitoring and limited security process and procedures don't help.

This place is very nice for a small town like Santa Fe. I remember when it was constructed when I was in high school and now when I came back it really hasn't changed that much. It seems to be fairly well kept up. It is a shame that they are struggling financially which has also hurt the upkeep of the place.

I need a space to warm-up and practice my karate forms. Given how big this gym is, there should always be a place. And I usually use the room upstairs. But often both that room, and the one downstairs have classes with LOUD speaker systems. I try to adjust my schedule around the classes, but they keep changing so it forces me to constantly change my schedule. 😣 Many ceiling leaks, and my partner had to stop going there because mold in the air bothered her. Except for those things (which seem not to affect most people), it is a nice facility offering weights and a track as well.
